Stall Holder Code of Conduct


The Carrington Fair is a longstanding event in the Camden community. We wish to maintain an authentic community experience where friendly stallholders work alongside retailers and volunteers to create an unforgettable day out for our residents and visitors. Our Fair is for great quality and a high level of customer service. All stall holders must strive to achieve best customer service results at all time.

The Code of Conduct and Terms and Conditions applies to all Carrington Fair stallholders.

As a stallholder, you agree that:

  • you will act with respect, courtesy and dignity at all times;
  • you will interact with the public, members of Carrington Management, staff and volunteers, fellow stallholders and retailers in a kind and courteous manner;
  • you will work safely and ensure the safety of others;
  • you will strive to contribute to an honest, unbiased and unprejudiced market environment;
  • you will refrain from any form of harassment, intimidation or unwanted physical contact of others;
  • you will refrain from rude, violent, aggressive, uncooperative or belligerent behaviour toward others;
  • you will refrain from verbal criticism of other stallholders or their products;
  • you will conduct yourselves and your businesses with honesty, transparency and in the spirit of cooperation.

Aggressive, Rude and Unreasonable Behaviour

Aggressive, rude or belligerent behaviour towards our staff or volunteers will not be tolerated, and will result in the immediate shut down of your stall, and a barring from future events. This can include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Bullying of any nature;
  • Verbal or physical abuse;
  • Sexism and sexual harassment – unwanted or uninvited sexual behaviour;
  • Racism and racist behaviour;
  • Offensive, insulting or derogatory language including shouting or yelling;
  • Acting in a discriminatory manner;
  • Offensive, insulting or inappropriate communications (including emails, social media, correspondence etc);
  • Unwarranted, unjustified or unsubstantiated criticism or comments;
  • Intimidating behaviour;
  • Victimisation;
  • Stealing of intellectual properties and copyright infringements.

Carrington has the right to withhold or cancel an approval to a stallholder to trade on the day, or to remove or have removed from the event a stallholder who is in breach of the rules and code of conduct. This is including but not limited to where a stallholder:

  • Fails to comply with its obligation relating to vehicle and traffic control;
  • Fails to abide by the market’s trading hours;
  • Commits a criminal act at the event;
  • Behaves in a manner that Carrington Management considers is inappropriate or may bring the event into disrepute.
