Residential
respite care

Residential respite care is available at Carrington for short-term stays, providing support for both residents and carers.

Respite care may be helpful if:

  • A carer needs a temporary break
  • Recovery support is required after illness or hospitalisation
  • Trial care is desired before permanent admission

Aged Care Assessment (ACAT)

To access permanent residential aged care, an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) assessment is required.

ACAT assessments:

Are conducted by qualified health professionals

Assess medical, physical, psychological, and social needs

Are provided free of charge

Do not require a GP referral

You can arrange an assessment by contacting My Aged Care.

Australian government requirements

The Australian Government requires financial information to determine aged care fees and eligibility for assistance.

This process helps calculate:

  • Your cost of care
  • Accommodation contributions

Our team can help explain this process and guide you through the required documentation.
