Residential
respite care
Residential respite care is available at Carrington for short-term stays, providing support for both residents and carers.
Respite care may be helpful if:
- A carer needs a temporary break
- Recovery support is required after illness or hospitalisation
- Trial care is desired before permanent admission
Aged Care Assessment (ACAT)
 To access permanent residential aged care, an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) assessment is required.
ACAT assessments:
Are conducted by qualified health professionals
Assess medical, physical, psychological, and social needs
Are provided free of charge
Do not require a GP referral
Australian government requirements
The Australian Government requires financial information to determine aged care fees and eligibility for assistance.
This process helps calculate:
- Your cost of care
- Accommodation contributions
- Eligibility for government support
