Our History & Purpose
Our Legacy
We haven’t forgotten the generosity and benevolence on which we were founded. In 1889, William Henry Paling donated his Grasmere property to the people of New South Wales. His generous donation of land, worth £20,000 at the time, and a further £10,000 led to the construction of the Carrington Centennial Hospital for Convalescents and Incurables, now called Carrington House.
Now, this building stands at the heart of our estate as a reminder of our promise to serve our community.

Your safety and wellbeing are our priority. Our residential care homes receive funding from the Australian Government, and we are regularly reviewed by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
To be eligible for this funding, the Australian Government requires that every aged care home adhere to and be accredited under nationally recognised standards. The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission is the independent body responsible for managing the accreditation process and ongoing supervision of Commonwealth-funded aged care homes.Â
