What an incredible start to spring. I have several updates from across our community, including the Carrington Fair, a research grant, and an innovative technology trial happening in Paling Court, as well as an update on our infrastructure developments.
Carrington FairÂ
With sincere appreciation, we thank everyone who volunteered their time, energy, and talents to make our annual Carrington Fair such a tremendous success.
From the planning and preparation through to the activities on the day and the pack-up afterwards, your commitment, enthusiasm, and teamwork were truly outstanding. Events like this are only possible because of the generosity and dedication of people willing to contribute in so many ways.
Thank you to our volunteers, staff, residents, families, sponsors, donors, and community partners who helped create a fantastic day filled with fun, connection, and memorable experiences. Your support made a significant difference and contributed greatly to the success of the event.
We are incredibly grateful for your contribution and proud of what we achieved together. Thank you for helping make this year’s Fair such a memorable occasion.

Our New Chief Operating Officer – Parisa Tavallaei
Parisa has over 20 years of leadership experience in Aged Care and Allied Health. She has overseen operational improvements, organisational transformations, and regulatory recoveries in various complex healthcare environments.
Parisa shares Carrington’s commitment to people, community and delivering exceptional care and support. Her experience and leadership will be a valuable addition as we continue to shape Carrington’s next chapter together.

Harnessing Motivation Science
Physical and social activity are critical to health, independence, and quality of life. We’re always looking for ways to increase the wellbeing of the people in our residential Aged Care. The University of Western Sydney has received a grant to study how motivation science can improve engagement with the wellbeing programs we offer. Carrington supported UWS to receive this grant and, along with seven other aged care providers, has been selected to participate in the study.Â
Motitech’s Motiview technology is playing a vital role in the study, particularly through its immersive virtual exercise bikes. The results will be shared across the industry.
Development Updates
Woodland Assisted Living
Westbourne Constructions is progressing design and pre-construction planning towards the Construction Certificate, with construction expected to commence in the coming months. We will work closely with neighbouring residents to manage potential impacts so the project progresses smoothly while maintaining the safety and accessibility of the surrounding area.
Selfcare South
Approval for the Concept DA has now been received for Selfcare South, we are now progressing to the next stage of planning and development. The 5-acre area is east of our Paling Court Residential Aged Care home and includes new Independent Living Units, Assisted Living, Allied Health and Memory Care facilities.
Smalls Road Development
The proposed Smalls Road development is progressing, with Camden Council endorsing the proposal and referring it to the NSW Department of Planning, Housing & Infrastructure (DPHI) for the next stage of assessment. This is a positive step forward for the project and allows the proposal to progress through the next stages of the statutory planning process.

Nobi
Residents’ safety and wellbeing are our priority. That’s why we are trialling Nobi, an innovative smart lighting system with AI-powered technology that provides an additional layer of discreet support for resident safety.
Nobi can alert our care team when a resident gets out of bed and when it detects a fall, supporting a timely response. It can also provide information to help us understand factors that may have contributed to a fall.
The trial is commencing in the Cobbity Wing of Paling Court, and we will assess its effectiveness and suitability for broader use across Carrington’s Residential Aged Care homes.
