Carrington’s goal is to offer holistic care for our residents, including pastoral and spiritual care.
Our Pastoral Care Coordinator works with a team of Pastoral Care Volunteers who have received specialised training to provide pastoral support to our independent living and our residential aged care facility residents.
At Carrington, Pastoral Care visits centre on what is important for the individual resident and what brings meaning to their life. For some this will be associated with religion, prayer, reading the Bible or other religious text while others find meaning in things such as music, nature or relationships. Each individual’s needs are recognised and the Pastoral Care team visits focus conversations on these topics.
Referrals can be made by the resident themselves, by their family or by our staff. Pastoral Care is a voluntary service and therefore the resident or their family must agree to the service being provided.
