Joyce was joined by friends and family members at a special morning tea on Wednesday 14th June 2017. Everyone enjoyed the cake baked especially for the occasion by Carrington’s chef Paul.
Terry Morley (Joyce’s son) spoke on behalf of the family and thanked Carrington for the great care given to his mum by staff at Mary Mackillop.
Joyce received special congratulatory messages from Queen Elizabeth II; Prime Minister the Hon. Malcolm Turnbull MP; The Premier of NSW Gladys Berejiklian MP; His Excellency General the Hon. Sir Peter Cosgrove; Governor of NSW the Hon. David Hurley; Member for Hume, Angus Taylor MP; and Speaker of the NSW Legislative Assembly the Hon. Shelley Hancock MP.
Dan Tehan Minister for Veterans’ Affairs also wrote to Joyce in glowing terms acknowledging the service of her late husband Russell, and for the support she gave him, and the tireless work she carried out for Legacy.
