We love finding new venues and museums to take our residents to on their regular bus outings. The Grasmere Terrace residents were recently taken on a trip to the Museum of Fire in Penrith for a guided tour.
After the tour, the residents had a chance to sit down and speak to some of the volunteer fire fighters. During these conversations, they learnt more about the work that our volunteer fire fighters do each year, learn about the history of the fireman and how the role has evolved over time. They also had the opportunity to view the fire equipment, find out what each piece was used for, and learn a little bit more about general fire awareness.
No matter our age, fire safety and awareness is always valuable information to know. The residents finished off the outing with a packed picnic lunch, having the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful sunshine outside.
