International Nurses Day 2017
11 May, 2017 - 14 May, 2017
Each year on the 12th May we acknowledge and celebrate the contribution made by nursing staff to the health and wellbeing of people in need of care.
The significance of the 12th May is important to remember as it is the birth date of the most celebrated nurse, Florence Nightingale. Florence Nightingale was a trailblazing figure in nursing who greatly affected 19th- and 20th-century policies around proper care. She was known for her night rounds to aid the wounded, establishing her image as the ‘Lady with the Lamp.’
Florence Nightingale’s legacy lives on today as we celebrate all our nursing staff at Carrington for the care and dedication they show on a continuing basis to our residents.
