Our Grevillea residents from Mary Mackillop recently enjoyed a day trip to the Historical Aircraft Museum in Albion Park. All of the residents and staff enjoyed getting up close to the planes and learning more about them. The Museum is an integral part of the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society, a not-for-profit organisation formed in 1979 by a group of aviation enthusiasts who were interested in the preservation of Australian aviation history.
As such, there are a number of restored aircraft from various points in our aviation history currently at the museum.
Our residents enjoyed a personal, guided tour from the father of Julie Philpott, our Pastoral Care Coordinator.
Thank you also to the lovely ladies in the museum cafe who went above and beyond to make the day so special for the residents, serving up a lovely lunch and afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and slices.
