Carrington uses Occupational Therapists to help assess our resident’s ability to safely function and use different specialist equipment (for example electric wheelchairs).
A referral for an Occupational Therapist review is established when a need is identified by Carrington’s Physiotherapist, Registered Nurse or GP.
Carrington’s outreach services include attendance by an Occupational Therapist who will come to see our residents at Carrington for the appointment. There is a fee for service charged for an Occupational Therapist review. After the appointment the Occupational Therapist will then send the resident an assessment letter and can assist in locating any necessary equipment or aids that are required.
