Blue Mountains Trip

24.06.2019 Admin News No Comments

Our Mary Mackillop residents had a great trip up to the Blue Mountains last week. The first stop was at Wentworth Falls, where the residents stopped at a lovely lake filled with bird life to quickly stretch their legs.

It was onward then to Blackheath, where the group stopped at Govett’s Leap Lookout to view Bridal Veil Falls cascading down the mountainside. Unfortunately due to the lack of rain it was more a trickle than a waterfall, but still an awe inspiring site regardless!

The residents had the opportunity to enjoy a picnic lunch while staying nice and warm dressed in scarves, gloves, and beanies. Many of the residents had not had the opportunity to visit the Blue Mountains area before, so it was a wonderful introduction to a stunning part of NSW.

On the way home the residents stopped in at the information centre, where a movie was showing that displayed some of the stunning photography of the local area.

Biggest Morning Tea Fundraiser

3.06.2019 Admin News No Comments

Residents from all four of our residential aged care facilities recently gathered in our Recreation Hall to celebrate Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. This is a fundraiser that we are proud to participate in each year.

We are thankful for the generosity of our local community, and received donations from Cake Biz, Bakers Delight Camden, Creme de la Creme, GCM, Donut King Narellan, and Coffee & Co Narellan. Our staff and Werombi Court residents also showed off their baking skills and donated some tasty treats.

We were entertained by the duo Fred’s Ginger during the morning tea, who specialise in 50’s and 60’s music. Some staff and residents even hit the dance floor to burn off all the sugar!

Wellness Club + Kris’ Feathered Friends

3.06.2019 Admin News No Comments

Our Community Care Wellness Club recently joined forces with our Residential community for a day of entertainment and music.

We absolutely loved having Kris’ Feathered Friends and her colourful friends out to entertain the residents, as well as two of our very own volunteers Trish and Mark. Trish and Mark make up the very popular husband and wife singing duo, the Honey Sippers.

We would like to extend our appreciation for their time and putting smiles on so many faces. We would also like to extend our heart-felt gratitude to Southern Cross Funeral Directors who sponsor Kris and made our day possible.
