‘After moving to Engadine in the Sutherland Shire when we were first married we had three children and lived there for 21 years. We then moved to Woodbine near Campbelltown and having raised three wonderful children during that time Virginia and I retired at the end of 2010 when I was 70 and after a number of years we decided it was time to sell up and move into a retirement village.
We discussed this with our children and their partners who were all in favour of us finding the perfect place for us. After visiting a number of villages in the Macarthur and Wollondilly areas, as this was the areas we preferred to stay in, on one of our morning walks we talked to a Woodbine resident who was about to move into Carrington.
We thought this could be the place for us and visited Carrington and were very impressed with not only the facility but also the staff, who were very welcoming and friendly and we promptly put our name down for this wonderful village.
Our Lawyer was very impressed with Carrington and the contract documents which we subsequently went ahead with.
The best part was when our family saw what we were looking at they were also pleased for us. We moved in late 2015 and then discovered more of the benefits of being part of this wonderful retirement lifestyle. The storage area for our caravan which we use frequently for touring Australia and accommodation, during our activities with motor sport events, we are both senior scrutineers at many race meetings, including V8 Supercar events.
We also have peace of mind when we go visiting other countries, mostly on cruise ships where we often meet people from other retirement villages in Australia, who related some disturbing stories about the facilities they live in.
Virginia and I have participated in a number of Carrington activities and found the people involved are so friendly and welcoming, we have wonderful neighbours and we couldn’t be happier.
We are both looking forward to spending our future lives at Carrington’
